Takeda Employee Integration
The journey through the first 90 days as they embark towards building a shared future
THE ASK
Takeda was in the midst of a global acquisition of Shire, another large pharmaceutical company. Slalom was asked to create a simple, end-to-end integration experience so employees can connect with each other, find key resources, and feel comfortable with ambiguity.
Globally, all employees were guided through a recommended path for the first 90 days to make onboarding less overwhelming and were provided with a tactical guide to answer questions about what’s changing. Locally, Activity Cards were distributed to site coordinators who could pick and choose activities which would resonate with their employees. The cards outline activities to bring employees together, centered around Takeda’s culture and mission.
ROLE
I was one of 2 UX designers from Slalom Consulting working with the Employee Integration team at Takeda (mostly HR and communications leads).
The project lasted about 4.5 months.
